Tim Henman is 10/1 with us to take the French Open
title after a vintage show to oust Juan Ignacio
Chela in the quarter-final. Despite pre-match support
for Chela, after it was believed that the early
rain would favour the Argentinian, Henman made a
blistering start to take the opening set before
his powerful all-court game allowed him to close
out a one-sided match.
This is his best ever performance in a Grand Slam
event outside Wimbledon, and he is only two matches
away from the first British Singles win at Roland
Garros since Sue Barker back in 1976. His semi-final
opponent, however, will be Guillermo Coria, winner
of 26 of his 27 matches on clay this season, and
our 4/9 favourite for the title. Henman is 5/1 with
us for this year's Wimbledon.
