Snow Ridge is the new favourite for the Vodafone
Derby at Epsom after Yeats continued to drift markedly
in the betting. Snow Ridge, who will be aiming to
give Frankie Dettori an elusive first success in
the Derby at the 12th attempt, is now 11/4 market
leader with Totalbet.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Yeats is moving in the
opposite direction though, being pushed out to 7/2
by Totalbet. Yeats has been uneasy in the market
ever since news emerged that he was undergoing daily
physiotherapy on a muscle problem which first surfaced
on May 21.
The move is mirrored by Ladbrokes who now make
Snow Ridge their 5/2 favourite ahead of Yeats on
7/2. "This is the first time that Yeats has not
headed our Derby market since we introduced him
at 12/1 following his winning debut last September,"
said Balthazar Fabricius of Ladbrokes.
