Betting Overview |
Since their lamentable showing at the 2002 FIFA
World Cup Korea/Japan, Portugal have been
led by driven Brazilian maestro Luiz Felipe Scolari.
He has high expectations of success in Europe, and
if friendly matches are anything to go by at this
point, the Portuguese certainly appear to have a
bright future ahead of them.
Also a big let-down at Asias first finals,
Russia and Slovakia both made heavy work of their
Euro 2004 qualifying campaigns. In their play-off
with Wales, the Russians came close to going under
in Cardiff, before the only goal of the game from
Vadim Evseev secured their ticket to Portugal.
After unsuccessfully locking horns with England
and Turkey, Slovakia had to content themselves with
a spectators role in the battle for a place
at Euro 2004. They will no doubt be looking to take
advantage of this well-balanced group to enhance
her reputation.
In qualifying for Euro 2004, Latvia wrote the finest
chapter in their short history. This former Soviet
republic will undoubtedly be planning to act as
group party-poopers once more. Estonia, Liechtenstein
and Luxembourg will more than likely become embroiled
in their own little battle not to finish bottom.
There are only three teams in this in our opinion.
Portugal are a best priced 4/7
with Capital Sports, which is a little short,
Russia are 9/4
with Victor Chandler, while BetDirect
offer a huge 11/1 for Latvia, which may be worth
it each way. |
